My Top 3 Favorite YouTube Yogis

pexels-photoIsn’t the internet wonderful? You can find pretty much anything from clothes, to books, and even to yoga instructors. While I do prefer going to a studio for my personal yoga practices, when I don’t have the time to go or if my roads are icy (yay Utah winters!), YouTube is a great resource. It’s also great if you don’t have the funds for a studio (I’ve been there!).

For those of you with no funds, no time, or perhaps aren’t sure if you even want to try yoga, here is my list for my top 3 favorite YouTube yogis!

Erica Vetra from Psyche Truth

Erica’s series of Weight Loss yoga routines can be found on the channel Psyche Truth. She also has her own channel, but I prefer these videos because they’re great to do when I don’t have any sort of time. She’s talented, strong, and she creates challenging sequences. The downside to her personal channel videos is that the audio can be a little echoey, but I love them just the same.

Yoga with Adriene

This teacher is probably one of the most popular on YouTube, and for good reason. She creates focused and specific practices that range from 5 minutes to a full hour. She’s also pretty funny and I love her carefree and calm attitude. A slight downside is that she can be a little too chatty for my taste and often (because of the chattiness) she doesn’t hold poses on both sides equally.

Fightmaster Yoga

First of all, the name says it all. This woman is a powerhouse. You want to get really strong? She’ll help you do it. Even though she is one of the most challenging yoga instructors I’ve come across, I’m always grateful that I paid her a visit. However, don’t be scared, she has great beginner classes and even the one linked above that has some tips for those who aren’t all that flexible. Her only downside is that she seems to be trying to follow Yoga for Adriene’s video style a little more than I would prefer. Be yourself, girl!

Well, there you go! I hope you enjoyed my list! Also, if you’ve been reading for a while, I am still planning on creating my own yoga YouTube channel. I just needed to find my own style. It probably won’t be here for a while (busy with work and also it’s summer so it’s too hot to do anything with life), but it’s coming.

Thanks for reading and thanks for sharing your energy with me today.

Namaste.

  1. Great choices here! I’m a fan of Yoga With Adriene, but I like how you mentioned her chattiness. It occasionally draws me out of what I’m doing, but it depends on the video and whatever. I don’t have any real “data” so this is just my thinking, but it seems like her videos get less chatty the newer they are. I’ve watched a lot of her older stuff and it’s entirely too much on the over-explaining certain things, which I realize is great for beginners but not so great for me at this point (although I’ve only been doing yoga since January).

I’ll definitely have to check out these other two channels too. I’d be interested to see your yoga channel once you get it up and running. I love the sense of community that comes out of YouTube yoga, and I love your style on this blog, so I think you should totally go for it – time permitting and all of that. Good luck!
